AFRICA'S DECADE COULD BE HERE


WHAT IS HAPPENING?

"Fast growing Africa could be a dominant force in the worlds economic landscape for decades to come, If the continent get's it's act together ", Said Jim O'Neil Top Goldman Sachs Economist on Tuesday.

Africa was" one part of the world that has got very high growth rate which is accelerating.", Said O'Neil who is the firms asset management chairperson, as he pointed to an expected growth of 6% this decade.

WHAT IT MEANS 4 AFRICA? 

But to harness the boom, African leaders must improve Technology, Education and the rule of law, Including reducing corruption.
"If all these things happen, This is going to be Africans decade". He told an African venture capital Association conference.

O'Neil known for coming up with the B.R.I.C. acronym-Brazil, India,China grouping which recently welcomed South Africa as part of the group.

"South Africa has a big role yo play and probably quite a responsibility in being some kind of gateway to helping the rest of Africa become more successful.",he said.

WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOU?

The scale of changes that are going on means that sometime this decade probably the next two years, the B.R.I.C.S countries will become bigger than the U.S
